God of War 3
I had seen a few adverts for this and decided to download the demo and take a look at the God of war 3 demo. I didn’t know but this game is only available on the PS3.
This is a classic button bashing game but with some very cool twists. At first you are launched into battle with some undead skeletons and you literally bash your way up the slope to where you are confronted by some large gates. after collecting some health and some more fighting you come across some larger creatures to fight.
What I liked was when you are fighting the larger creatures you also get glowing buttons to press above the creatures by pressing the corrct buttons at the right time it triggers different fight moves which are very gruesome and warrant the 18 basge on the box, but they do look pretty good with the graphics showing off to their full effect.
I also liked th occasional 3d platform style by shooting and hooking a flying creature you can get across large gaps. This took me a second or two to get used to but once I did it was easy enough to swtiche3 to other flying creatures mid air to reach your destination.
Toward the end of the demo you encounter the guy you are trying to destroy which without reading the full story on the God of war 3 website I gather is a god or something to that effect. When you get to him you he defended very well but then large bear creature attacks you. This was quite good as you use the creature to fight off the rest of the defenders.
Right at the end of the demo you get to experience flying as you escape up a what I can only describe as a giant chimney which you have to avoid falling debris.
The sound effects were OK with him fighting and the background music kept the heart going as you ran around.
I would normally not go for a game like this but I am very tempted to try this out and go and buy it. It has some very good effects and I like the different ideas they have come up with to make the game unique.
I recommend you at least trying the demo out.
